rodrigo
Ok...this is the third time this happens. I drive with them on all the time. They are factory wired and factory lamps, but with the reworked relay as described in the 'cosmetic and detailing resource page'. Basically, the relay contact is rotated to as to have the fog lamps activated with only the parking lights on, not just the headlamps. These are sylvania silver star H1 bulbs 55W.every week, the right one goes out, and I have no idea why. I tugged and jiggled on the wire harness to see if anything happened and nothing. Is this common??
Gregg
been driving through any rain/water? check the seal on the fog lamp housing cover and make sure the rubber seal is in place.I can't comment on the fog light mod that modifies the relay...as I used the instructions that were originally posted last year I think and I added a new relay for the fogs. I made sure of that when I replaced the bulb, as well as trying to look for anything along the wiring, but I remeber most of it was loomed up and went up into the fender, so it was kind of hard. There has not been any rain up here in a couple of weeks...The last time this happened (the buld being out) I went to replace the bulb, and it looked fine, so I put it back inside the housing and wired it up, and it was fine. I think it may be something on the housing? I'll dry di-electric grease when I put it back on. Oh, and the base of the bulbu that went out last week was kind of blueish in color...when I got them they were just shiny silver metal.

gatlin
It seems that ( in my humble opinion ) there is some oxidation thereThat was the problem with my factory foglights. They were either rusted or slightly burned. The lights used to sproadically go out. Just tugging on the wire gently brought them back to life. I tried to clean the connection and use dielectric grease, but that couldn't overcome the funk in the connection. I eventually replaced the socket ($15 from the dealer) and the plug (part of the main wire harness). I got used plugs off of another S70 without foglight since all the cars are wired for foglights.
