Non Turbo.Not sure if that helps my cuase other than the NA motor is running great its just coming out of a car that was victim to a falling tree.The plot (sh*t) thickens. You should definitely take a crack at a project 240. They're pretty interesting. I'm looking at maybe doing the same, outside of the 245, that is. EricF Posted September 29, 2005 Report Share Posted September 29, 2005 Don't forget that you may have to do some suspension, brake, fuel and ignition system work to get the car safe enough to drive... Bodywork can be overlooked on a low budget project, but if there are a lot of original or really old parts, expect to be replacing at least some of them. With a budget like $2k, it's very easy to stay under that in the planning stages, but when it comes to executing the plan, you'll probably find that nickel and dime items will drive your cost up considerably.Best of luck, but I would plan quite a bit of wiggle room into your budget :) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
BenW Posted September 30, 2005 Author Report Share Posted September 30, 2005 I'll make this real simple.Im not getting the car.Too much unknown as to exactly what will need to be done to get it running.Bigger unknown in exactly what will need to be done to get it fun to drive.Last thing i need is ANOTHER non-running car in my driveway.On to the next fleeting moment.Of note, I did actually go look at the car and it's in pretty good shape. It's an 81.It would make some VS'er very happy. Just not this VS'er. I can provide info on the seller if anyone wants it. Also i can link to the free wrecked 240 sedan if anyone wants that. All I ever do is consistently bite off more than I can chew when it comes to car projects What I'd do if I were you is watch on turbobricks for someone else's project that comes up for sale and already is a mostly sorted car that's ready to be modded.
