volvo4lif3
Cobalt SS is a glorified cavalier, but not a bad little car. Hey, girls need to look "cute" in cars, and this is one to do it in. GL to you though :)
rikardsundelin
I drove one at the Texas state fair on chevys little cone track. I drove the automatic unfortunately and it felt slow as hell... :D
ptycho
I believe he said $27,000 but that may just because I can shove my foot so far up your jerk that you will stop making snyde little poking comments like that, twerp.Apparently I can read numbers, but I do have major problem with math 27,000-5,500 = 21,500 and with reading context. You totally owned me on that one. But I think my snyde comment wasn't nearly as mean as yours :)

Asinine
So, our first race just went down, and there are some positives and negatives.Positive: I powerbraked to close to 3k at the line and as a result had some slippage, but my worst fear was not confirmed in that my buddy in the SS didn't take off on me as i would have expected (not suprising since i had the turbo about charged).Positive: I had the edge all the way through my first gear (which took him about 1/3 into his second gear)Negative: When my car shifted to second i had NOTHING. Not nothing on him, but nothing. There was a serious loss of power i'm going to need to look into. I'll grant the Auto shift could be a bit slower and since i can't heel and toe in an auto car i'm going to loose my boost, but i should have shifted into the powerband and it certainly didn't feel like it should - or has in the past.Volvo - 0, Chevy -

Asinine
Could be slower than a manual shift is what i meant, doesn't really read like that.
RiddickJordan
umm, heal toe has to do with downshifting while slowing down, usually in or before a turn.

ChuckV986
+1......I'd expect him to win if you're stock. He traps much higher.
Asinine
Yeah, my bad.. heel toe is the wrong term, i meant that i'm incpable of keeping revs high enough for the turbo to be charged between gears since i'm stuck with the auto.Anyways, i wanted to investigate this second gear change, so i went out and the first thing i noticed was that i was in ECON. Not a big deal, since with that kind of abuse on the loud pedal it would get the job done.I took a couple runs down some back roads and things felt a lot better. However, judging by how the SS behaved in 2nd i think i'm gonna need a chip and a wastegate adjustment before i can beat him.Oh well - it is the result i expected. Nebor
AFAIK, automatics hold boost better through gears than manuals...
