tp_taylor
Not neccessarily a boost issue (pushing 14psi all the way), but the ignition is being put into "safety" mode under four thousand RPM's. Then it's ALIVE!!! Me and MaYdAy have been plugin along with other issues on the car and this one appears to be the final prob. Got the 15 ST chip installed. There are a few sending units that the computer reads under 4k and then it goes to fixed maps above that (from what I gathered). O2 is replaced recently, what other sensors could cause ign cut? MAF? Thanks to all who give great info on this prob... TT
thelostartof
from some RWD volvo's i've found a leaking/broken FPR can cause this kind of issue as @ lower rpms it runs rich as crap, and as soon as ya bring the revs up it will smooth out as it can actually burn the fueltry pulling off the FPR and see if its leaking. (usually just removing the vac line from it fuel should spray out @ ya
tp_taylor
...while smoking a cigarette, got it. Thanks for the info, check that out when I get home this eve.
thelostartof
the thing is it is supposed to leak w/ teh car running but on his car it didn't .. but w/ the vac line OFF when he turned off the car it blasted a nice stream of gas out of the FPR so we knew it was bad, as his car also ran like crap @ lower rpms and would barely idle yet @ higher revs was just perfect
Guest '95_R
Have you tried a cap and rotor?I pressure washed my engine bay a bit to aggressively the other day. Got some water in under the cap, it would misfire like crazy under load up till about 4-5000rpm, then it'd occasionally run right. Put a new cap/rotor on and it fixed it. tp_taylor
The FPR is fine from what it looks/smells like. I recently changed the cap/rotor when I performed the "0". We actually got the car to run great today. There was a rip in the tube that runs from the T-body to the air pump thingy. Then, blamo! boooooosssstttt. I actually had to dial back the Wgate for I was pushin 20psi. Regained boost and finishing up the V70 cluster swap and the boost gauge in the left upper air vent(actually looks good) have made me a happy camper.
