VolvoTD
Hello all. I am Going to be painting my exterior trim today before it rains and am wondering how i go about removing the exterior trim. Do i have to remove the door trim and push it off from the inside? or can i just pull it off and then pop it back in the same way? Would i need to get new clips then as well? Thanks for the help Fellas.JohnA.
JoshV70
Why are you painting it? If you just want it to look black again, try putting peanut butter on it and then wiping it off. Most people that I've seen who painted their trim, always peels off.

beachnut
REMOVING 850 DOOR TRIMThere ya go by the way, Forever Black is not paint ... it is a dye. In my opinion though you've made a good choice to use FB instead of painting. Painting the trim DIY style never seems to work out well.

How didi you apply it?I use the Kiwi stuff too...works great and has not faded at all. I have also used Forever Black in the past and the kiwi polish seems to hold up better so far. I used a mini sponge roller from home depot to apply it.

That stuff looks great and has been nice and dark for the past half a year. No fading, streaking or running. Even in rain and whatnot. Plus, for the past half a year the car hasn't been in the garage (construction) so it's getting an even worse beating.
Mattphi
i did my trim on my old accord about 6 or 7 months ago and it is still fine. My advice...take your time, use the ble paint tape and some newspaper. Make sure to mask off everything that the paint might come into contact with, you dont want any over spray. Here are some pics. The trim was like a grey color before from "oxidation".
