Slater
If this belongs in maint, feel free to move it. However, it's more perf related.I am going to be replacing my stock susp (incl Nivomats) on my wagon with the Weitec cup kit.I am going to order new shock mounts. I assume that I order the mounts specified for "All 850 models EXCEPT R models with Nivomat shocks". I am assuming this because I will be using "normal" shocks NOT Nivomats. Is this a correct assumption?

Zappo
Is that the only thing needed to change to from nivomat to standard shocks? I have never looked at the rear shocks on a nivomat car, so don't know.

Slater
OK, one more question. What additional parts besides upper shock mounts should I order to replace worn components (my car has 100k), and what is OK to reuse? I know I'll need a new white clip, but what about the bump stops, upper spring seat, etc? Should I go ahead and replace it all, or just reuse what I have? I assume that's what you are talking about.

Sounds like a plan.

Sounds like a plan.i seem to recall many people talking about a spring seat retaining pin or sumthing similar that was a pita to get off, and usually ended up replacing that as well. I havent tried myself, as I have been procrastinating my switch over to new struts&shocks..

beachnut
The upper spring perch has a rubber "bushing" ... like a shock mount for the spring, so the spring doesn't sit on metal. Kind of like the front spring seat, except the rubber is removable and therefore replaceable I would think. Perhaps this is the "spacer" you are talking about. I wish I had replaced mine, but I will next time when I get the Weitec kit.
Johann
Doesn't the weitiec come with bump stops?Use non nivomat upper mount in the rear. The Nivomat ones in my S70 squeek a lot. I thought they were stronger compared to the non Nivomat so I left them in place but this turned out to be a bad move.Use new upper mounts at all time. I had one of the mounts crack during very hard cornering at 90 mph..Not a nice thing to experience. The bump stop saved my day but still...For the front use new upper spring dishes. Slater
OK, here's a diagram from VADISThe plan is to replace 6, 11, 12, and the 14 clip. Is someone saying 10 needs to be replaced as well?
