jb7073
Heard a thump at the door (doesn't UPS know there is such a thing as a door bell ), and look what was waiting:Just wish it was for me. The wife's B-Day present was a CD player to replace her factory cassette. Got a really good deal on it so I didn't mind too much. Probably will want to steal it from her though, since I miss my old MP3 HU that got stolen.Guess I'm looking at an install this afternoon or tomorrow. matt1122
Nice! Hopefully I'll be putting a new unit in the Jeep soon!I love Aiwa stereos - they aren't of the highest of high qualities but they sound damned good and you get a lot for your money! JehovArob
Cool. I replaced the stock headunit in my car (cause it sucked) with one of these suckers:Gotta love the active black panel face! Also, using the Loudness feature (pumps up the bass and treble reguardless of the volume level) I can get some nice, car shaking bass out of the stock speakers (which I plan to eventually replace). Very pleased with this purchase. Sadly, price was dropped not too long after I bought it. And, it doesn't play MP3 CDs, but it does have an auxillary input, so I can plug my MP3 player in. Also, it will display track information and such if it is on the CD.

I'll find out after I install it  I'm going to start the install tonight when I get home from school. Figured I might let the wife have the garage over night for once. JehovArob
Does she know about it, or is she just gunna get in her car and find it?
jb7073
Nah, she knows. I've learned that when I'm spending any sort of money to ask her first. I picked out several that I thought was good, and she got to pick from that. Besides, if she got to pick it out all by herself, she'd buy it just on looks, and not specs or functionality. And I just picked one out, then she'd not like how it looks, or be able to figure out how to use it.I personally like the Kenwood Excelon X979, but I doubt my car will get any sort of performance stereo. Don't have money to throw around like I did in HS.

AnthonyR
I'm just waiting for this summer when Apple comes out with an Ipod to AI-net adapter. So I can directly interface one with my deck (browse and play all from the deck, ipod just sits happily in the glove box :)

JehovArob
Wow, that is awsome...But, for now, I'm fine just switching out CDs every now and then or just plugging my MP3 player in and setting that to play some stuff.
