Pictures if possible.Also, where do the wires go from the head unit to the back, I know that they go on the opposite side of the car from the amp wire in the same fashion, but where do they end up after they are connected to the deck?It may seem like common sense stuff, but I just want to be sure. 850 Stylzz Posted May 5, 2004 Report Share Posted May 5, 2004 Firewall pass-thru is located under the dash just above the hood release. You will see a thing with like 3 "nipples" coming off of it and some wires coming though as well. On my recent build, this was definitely one of the hardest parts about the install. I was running 4 gauge power wire through (actually behind the plug--no way you could fit one through the nipples) the wall and out the loom in the engine bay. Im not sure if the loom is standard or the result of some elec work done by the previous owner, but it was an absolute B!TCH to get through. I snagged that wire in the inside ribs so many times. Eventually cut the loom and taped it up really good b/c there was NO WAY to get the wire around one of the bends. you can find pretty good pics in the reference section under sub/amp install. They were on both sides of the plastic pipe... the 4 GA wire just barely fit - took about 15 min of wiggling etc to get it through. its a better position that where I had it before - it was going around by the front door; I'm sure it was an accident hazard. to get to it from the interior, pull off the knee protector on the driver's side and start digging through wires and you'll see the lil pipe.Adrian Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
