That is in fact exactly the combination.

It is out of the stand and on the bench.

Changed out the rear main seal.

The flywheel had some heat checks so I will have it ground in the morning while I chase down the last few parts. The bolt came right out of the flywheel. I drilled it from the back side and it caught and unscrewed itself. Cleaned and installed the oil cooler lines.

I am outta time for tonite. Here are a few more pics

And yes that DA_MN harmonic balancer will get cleaned and painted!

WOW looking very good. I love that blue color. One little bit of advice you might want to paint that bracket for the power steering fluid. Just an idea. Other than that your motor looks like a masterpiece. :D

I am going to try and clean it will some polishing compound first.

Doug,

Did you get me a rod when you got yours?

No I couldn't afford to order a 6th. I do have a stack of originals if you want them though.

Nah, I have extras of those too. I needed to see the construction of the performance rod. My pops makes some Chevrolet rods and I was hoping to see if I could get a quote on manufacturing the Hi-perf Volvo rods. I will make some drawings and get a stress test on the design.

ahh. If he designs SBC rods he'll probably have a good idea in mind. They look like a typical H beam rod.

Hey CJ I just realized something. Why didn't you use the straight outlet exhaust housing that was on your new motor with your 17T? Should be a straight bolt on (for the housing) and Im SURE you can handle the modification to the DP.

Seems to me it'd be worth it for the gain in exhaust flow

It is the later manifold and the old turbo. I plan to upgrade some pieces as soon as I can spring for it.

Ya but from looking at your pictures. Your new motor still had a turbo attached with the better exhaust housing. This is FREE for you! ;)

Doug,

I am using the exhaust and intake manifold that came with the new motor. It is a non EGR. Where do you see a straight flange exhaust manifold?

Something will be done with the PS bracket and the harmonic balancer.

In your pictures of the new motor when you first started, the Turbine Housing is a straight outlet 15G (96+). The turbo you have built uses your older (95-) conical outlet exhaust housing.

Im not talking about the exhaust manifold, talking about the exhaust housings. The straight outlet exhaust housing has a bigger ID outlet (to the DP) and flows better than the conical. You already have the parts, might as well use them! It'd probably take you 15 minutes to swap exhaust housings (you wont have to screw with the wheels, just unbolt the turbo and undo the vband on the exhaust housing and reverse) to take advantage of it!

I could show you the picture but they aren't working atm.
