Guest AlvinL
Good vise grips instead of pliers?
yangotang
Are you sure the wire is broken or is the plastic broken? The wire should have a little nub at the very end which attaches to the lever itself; if it is indeed the lever that is broken you should be able to find a replacement for relatively cheap and be able to release the hood. droot
I used a pair of vise grips but it wouldn't budge, could my hood be stuck some how?Good vise grips instead of pliers?ya that numb broke clean off the plastic is fine, which is funny I though the plastic would brake before the wire. Are you sure the wire is broken or is the plastic broken? The wire should have a little nub at the very end which attaches to the lever itself; if it is indeed the lever that is broken you should be able to find a replacement for relatively cheap and be able to release the hood. Guest AlvinL
Get a couple of persons to help push down on each corner of the hood over the latch to take the weight off while you pull on whatever wire you have left. You might as well cut the sheathing off to make more wire available for pulling.
