bill d cat Posted November 2, 2005 Report Share Posted November 2, 2005 I had my rear muffler heat shield come loose, lying on top of the rear muffler, resulting in a horrible racket -- just like when the rear sway bar broke or that shock mount broke...Apparently the studs that locate the heat shield rusted and the speed nuts fell off. My question is: are the locating studs welded into the body structure and how do you replace them??? Is this failure a "new one"? Thanks! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
