I just read this entire thread. Volvo rock, you have a LOT of reading in front of you.

I bought my firsst 850 turbo a year ago without ANY knowledge of how cars worked. I found this forum and hgave spent HOURS reading other peoples "stupid" questions to avoid asking the same things and gettin hazed for it.

I check this forum at LEAST 4 or 5 times a week now. Almost anything you could possibly want to know about you r car is eomwhere on this forum, everybody is REALLY helpful. just check every few days and look at all the topics, youll be up to speed in no time.

Just follow the single red wire, according to the installation manual it's suppose to go to a switch. Not a remote control.

Also check so the unit is grounded (black wire), you could put +12volt to that single red wire and the strobe should turn on if the ground is ok and strobes are still in the vehicle.

I'll take it that you checked that fuse on the strobe unit?

IDK if volvo's rock is still around or still checks this thread. But the guy who owned his car was prolly a volunteer firefighter. They can buy 'federal' strobes and they have to take them out before they can sell their car, as it is illegal for anyone else to have them. He prolly got lazy and just ripped the switch off and didn't feel like taking out the whole system. As for your springs, based on the amount of rice this guy threw at this car, I am almost positive he just chopped them springs up. And man, I don't know how many other people on this board could've taken that beating and stayed arond... props if you are still here.

oh and by the way, can someone bump up the iguanna thread... I would love to see that

yea, I read it in one sitting as well... took me about 40 minutes. But then again I really have nothing better to do while I am at work. Wish I could go outdoors... enjoy that one.
