Boost Gauge Install

Recommended Posts

I have installed a boost gauge in my previous car...an 850 LPT.

Now I have an XC and want to move the pillar trim/gauge over, but now I have an ETM, with noe vaccuum tree. The diagrams on the Bay 13 write up refers to cars with a cable operated TB, but what do you tap into with an ETM???

TIA

PS: sorry if its a repost, but the search funtion come up wih GTG's and all sorts of other stuff when I put in 'Boost gauge install" "bost gauge" etc. :monkey:

I noticed three...

1. one going towards the block kind of right in the middle in the manifold

2. one coming off the drivers side of the manifold end with a 45' tee going off it

3. one right beneath the previous that comes from the inside of the curl the manifold creates, and going to a tee.

any particular one of these?

these are all a fat diameter compared to the thin diameter of the gauge's vaccuum tubing...do i need a step down tee?

is there such a thing?

TIA

OK, so then I tap into any hose...I can do that.

The last question is as follows: All the hoses coming off the manifold are a larger diameter than the little vaccuum hose going to the gauge. Since I have to tee off one of the larger vaccuum hoses, I would need a step down tee...is such a thing available, and where?

you guys have any numbers on the sizes of those hoses I can use when I go to buy them?

I dunno if it is any different on my car. However I will look where mine is coming from and take a picture of it for you. I have the ETM too, so I will let you know.

Hey, man...that would be a great help. I'dlike to install it, but I want to get the right stuff at first and not drive back and forth to the parts place 20 times.

I'll keep an eye on this thread for your pics.

Thanks again
