droot
Is the est intake worth it? are there any draw backs? aer there any benefits? or is it mostly for show and sound of engine
yangotang
The CAI is not only for show or sound of engine. It is suposedly good for about +5 to +10hp. Installing a CAI allows for an increase in airflow to the turbo.I'll let team EST comment on this one :)

The intake makes the CBV sounnd pretty cool tho. :P

narxs70
wait a minute, the guy i bought my CAI from said that it gave me 35 hp. he said "can't you hear it, that whoosh is good for your spark plugs!" was he lying to me? surely not, he's my old roommate's, ex-g/f's, brother's friend. i mean, i only gave $250 for it. he said it could interchange from the Honda Accord he has w/ no problem, all i needed to do was unhook my turbo cuz it was a waste anyway.wouldn't that be a great story if it were true. augh, the fun of not doing work while at work. prasamin
EST intake is a warm air intake...i just got it for the look and sound...no added performance, but also it won't negatively affect versus the stock airbox either....so again, if you buy it, expect cosmetic changes. Jaxx
why do people do this if the stock airbox is fine? why can't you just vent the CBV line? matter of fact... where is it?
Guest DougK
Yup.. the heatshield works VERY well.If it sealed the filter all the way around the front up to the inner fender. No one makes an airbox that performs better than stock. It'd be for looks and sound only imo (which is fine).why do people do this if the stock airbox is fine? why can't you just vent the CBV line? matter of fact... where is it?buit into the turbo. Thats why Plus you need to keep it in the metered air stream anyways, ask 98brick about that.
Greenchunks
How come no one has made a real CAI yet? the previous owner of my car had some janky 3" plumbing piping that he had running down to the front bumper so it really did get cold air. It looks like he had to trim the battery tray slightly but other than that, it seemed ok. I may give it a shot once I get a new filter for the intake and I have some free time.
