whatme
Ok ok. So ive finally actualy gotten around to deciding to buy an exhaust after much procratination. The thing is im not to sure what to get. Ive got quite a few im thinking about: ipd, jt, supersprint, and maybe a custom 3" mandrel bent with straight through flowmaster or other type of straight through. Im not really sure about any of this. Im looking mainly for performance, of course, and sound. I want a good low sound that is nice a nice roar to it when under heavy acceleration, but then again nothing that will scare the neighbors as i come home or wake up my parents after i return home past curfew, yes i still have a curfew, lol. Also dont want to blow all my hard earned summer savings, thinking around 600-800. What do you guys think?
brick-a-brac
I would be interested in hearing the outcome of this discussion, as an exhaust change is on my list of projects for next season.Cheers!

V Tuning 850
If you don't want to blow your money go "Custom". The prefabbed stuff will blow your budget. Unless you can find one for sale for real cheap.Even a custom one could blow your budget, but more then likely it wont. From what I have asked around in my area. djscoggins
Im doing my exhaust ATM and im getting one for Jesse's DPs and highflow cat, and ipd 2.5 catbackgood luck!!
whatme
yah custom is what i was leaning more towards. I was thinking about replacing the cat while i was at it if i do actualy go custom. Anyone know how that is mounted on a t5-R? just bots on to the turbo down-pipe and then on to the exhaust or what? Oh and any major disadvantages to the custom route?

Gregg
Thats his first post, with a beautiful car like that. sad.NE crew +1!! Take that!with a budget of $600-$800, you can have any catback exhaust you want. Most/All the aftermarket pre-fabbed products are 2.5" which should be fine (stainless steel and mandrel bent - how can you go wrong?). It looks like you are planning a similar upgrade to me - catback exhaust and high flow catalytic converter w/ stock downpipe (at least until next year). I am going with a Ferrita catback and dynatech cat. I still need to go to the exhaust shop and get measured up to see which size cat I will need. prasamin
First off, it would have been nice if you had gotten in on the down pipe GB that Jesse had.Secondly, you should just get a custom mandrel bent system using Magnaflow. Should cost you less than $500 with a Mag cat and Mag mufflers.

whatme
Hey just because i HAVE the money doesnt mean I have to SPEND the money. The extra 200 bucks i save goes straight towards that speedtuning chip ive had my eye on. The custom option is looking good. 500 for that then 325 for speedtuning chip should put me up in the 270s, 280s right? somethin in there
