Back To The Question Of Exhaust

hmmm... But if whp stock is 230-240 and speed tunning should add around 15-20 hp and exhaust should add 5-10 thats 250-270 whp right? miscalculations? or does drive train loss actualy scale down gains, not just subtract certian amount of hp from bhp. I always thought that 20 bhp gained= 20whp gained. not so?

Hey just because i HAVE the money doesnt mean I have to SPEND the money. The extra 200 bucks i save goes straight towards that speedtuning chip ive had my eye on. The custom option is looking good. 500 for that then 325 for speedtuning chip should put me up in the 270s, 280s right? somethin in there

or you could buy my ST chip for $225 plus your stock chip.....

regular ST price is $325 plus your stock chip

wow, shows how much i know about current horsepower ratings...so that should bring with chip and all down to 240-250 whp right? somethin like that.

wow thats a really good price for the chip. I may be taking you up on that pretty soon....lets see how much money i can juice out of my parents for christmas. I may even be able to get both before christmas considering i stand around the 600s right now. Where do you live (for shipping times)?

ok ok....lol. Ok well i got it all planned out now, and i should be able to get a custom job pretty cheap considering that there are like atleast 5 places in town that speacialize in just that. The only thing that is left to decide is 2 mufflers or one....how loud is a 1 muffler system?

LA isnt to bad....way further than maryland but i think i can wait a couple days extra for a hundred dollars cheaper, lol.

If i get the exhaust for around 400 im set and pras will be getting some buisness in the next month or two.

Ok ok. So ive finally actualy gotten around to deciding to buy an exhaust after much procratination. The thing is im not to sure what to get. Ive got quite a few im thinking about: ipd, jt, supersprint, and maybe a custom 3" mandrel bent with straight through flowmaster or other type of straight through. Im not really sure about any of this. Im looking mainly for performance, of course, and sound. I want a good low sound that is nice a nice roar to it when under heavy acceleration, but then again nothing that will scare the neighbors as i come home or wake up my parents after i return home past curfew, yes i still have a curfew,lol. Also dont want to blow all my hard earned summer savings, thinking around 600-800. What do you guys think?

I always advise an ECU and a downpipe/cat first then a cat-back. I tried custom and it sounded good but was really really loud at certain RPMs. IPD was way better (and straight through).
