whatme
ok. Im thinking about which of the ecu upgrades to put on my car. Speedtuning is looking good just because of how cheap it is. The problem is that i plan on future engine mods. I know the stock ecu doesnt respond well to such things, but how do chipped ones handle upgrades? Which one of them accepts upgrades the best? or is this just an inherent problem with the type of ecu the car has?
s40euro
Instead of chipping try reflash like BSR or something piggy back like unichip in case ypou can later return to original for unichip it can be used on an other car
maiku
some chiptuners can "remap" the chip according to your modsstay away from ST if you're looking into modding for the futurego RICA if all possible
BlackT5
If you're set on using a "chip" then it's probably best to do all your performance mods at once. Then you can send your mod list to a chip tuner and hope they get the programming right.
s40euro
I do not kow if you have unichip dealer in US but the home page is herehttp://www.dastek.co.za/You can get programmed on the dyno so everything is custom. If you change the mods on your car you can get reprogrammed. BlackT5
No, Fukker! What's your AOL/MSN contact name? That's probably the easiest way to get it from you.
whatme
problem with unichip is who is going to program it around here? that means off dyno, send in reprograming. For that you might as well just get a chip that they reflash. What chip was it that they reflash for you for free?
Gioseppe
send me the software too!wouldn't mind getting familiar with it, possibly planning on going your route aswell.

whatme
Why is RICA beter than SpeedTuning?
Gioseppe
because rica flashes the ecu, and can return it to stock form quite easily.they also can reflash it with a different map to compensate for new upgrades you have made (new turbo, bigger injectors, exhaust....)ST solders in a chip, and isn't that great at it. harder to get a retune, and risks messing up the ecu when soldering.upsolute flashes too. i think...but rica is all about volvo, so they have the best maps out, best tuned maps.... whatme
why if they specialize in volvos and they just flash the ecu does it cost around $600???
