Zulu
Eh, I have it sitting around just haven't had time to throw it on. Talked to numerous volvo techs (private and dealership) along with many custom car mechs...all agree that there would be no problem.
Guest DougK
I snagged a cheap used one. I'll run it because I know what condition my bottom end is in now. I think they are 50/50 on our cars due to the tollerance in the factory balancing.
ProjectT-5R
Patrick, I totally disassebled your engine. It had a bent rod. This was not caused by running the pulley like you think it was. So maybe you just drove hard and went low oil or something, but it was not caused by the pulley. boostjunkie
Don't bother with a pulley, not worth the time and effort on a mostly stock car.And I have seen cases where the pulley caused excessive wearing of the bearings on the #1 and 2 cylinders on these motors :)
VolvoWill
I remember when Patrick put that on he said he felt a pretty good gain, but then again his car was an NA but it still looked good with the CF hood. If UR made a kit instead of just the crank pully it would be allright, and by the way $200 is expensive if you compare it to like a honda or toyota. You could get the whole UR kit for about that much. Personally I dont think its worth it.

Guest 300+_T5R_855
Fluidamper is a balancer that is filled half way with hydraulic oil. So it becomes a dynamic balancer. How about an aluminum flywheel, anyone?
Guest DougK
How about an aluminum flywheel, anyone?Nope. Have to have it built, not to hard except youll have to cut the notches in for the crank sensor. It'd be easier to take weight off the OEM one. Plus, from what EricF has read in the motronic manual, the ECU limits how quickly the motor will rev down anyways.
Boost Addicted
I'm still loven my UR pulley Been running it for two years, have sold 43 so far. Does give noticable gain and price it $190 shipped/insured. MSRP of $250As far as the kits go, I checked into it. The stock accessory pulleys are already aluminium and lightened. UR actually talked me out of having them producing a whole kit as almost all of the gain came from the crank pulley and it would have more than doubled the price. Also, someone mentioned aluminum flywheels, this would only work on manual cars as the auto cars don't have a flywheel. Don't know of anyone making one for our cars. Thanks, Pete
