Veneficus
For $640 you could get a killer amp and sub setup and like bing said you can buy boxes that will fit into the spare tires spot and there are many better alternatives IMO. The bottom line is: if you do this, I may just have to drive down to York and find you... and then punch you in the ovaries. A direct shot... STRAIGHT TO THE BABY MAKER. matt1122
as usual matt is shopping for a "yes" lolNot so much. More that I'm making sure it's not a no. I just wanted to make sure this sub wasn't a complete bust. I'm not interested in anything from an aftermarket manufacturer, though.I'm not looking to share my bass with the whole neighborhood or make alarms go off.So now it's just deciding between a new guitar amp or this sub. I'm probably going to get the sub.
Bing_0
what i think a lot of people are saying is, for 600 some dollars the sub is nothing BUT a big bust sorta like saying, is a toyota corolla a bad car? no, but if you paid 80 grand for one, is it a bad buy? yeah, horrible...:P
matt1122
Actually I consider a Corolla a POS.And $600 is only $100-150 more than you quoted my for my 850 to get a sub in and it's a hell of a lot cleaner than anything any aftermarket shop would do. robbyho
i can't find any pics of this subwoofer. i would go to a local audio shop and tell them that you want something better than the optional xc subwoofer. also tell them where that one installs and they can probably fit something in there. i have never an optional subwoofer that was worth the money. spend $250 on sub and amp and the rest on a custom install. even if you don't want to "boom", your money can get you better things. i don't know how much room there is, but i bet you could fit one or two 8" subs and probably two or three 6.5"s.something like this.3 6.5"s in spare tirerob
Bing_0
i have been itching to do that almost exact same set up with three 6w0s, but i never could convince anyone lol...sigh...but with a big enough spare, a small enclosure 10 would fit nicely as well wish all volvos came with the same exact size spare, then i can make these boxes ;)

matt1122
That must not be "clean."No, it's definitely not.It looks clearly unstock, even in that mid res mid quality picture, and it take up 1/4 of your trunk.

Veneficus
No, it's definitely not.It looks clearly unstock, even in that mid res mid quality picture, and it take up 1/4 of your trunk. It looks much better in person, I've left the box in bright sunlight since that picture has been taken and I routinely carry 4-5 tires in the trunk of the car with the sub box. - If you were to draw a perpendicular line from one edge to the other of the small pocket in the right side of the trunk thats how much room it takes up.I'll take better pics on Wednesday when I start my project. nagrod18
What is that covered with? I think that it would look a lot better if it matched the car.
