ok heres the deal, im the parts manager here at a volvo dealership in florida, my wifes 945 turbo has ran 100% for the past 5 month we have owened it, i replace the following because i wanted to, not because it needed it, plugs. wires, cap & rotor, iac, maf, oxgen sensor, all hoses, all brakes, all filters, muffler system.

heres the problem, car has run flawless untill yesterday, my wife said she came to a stop at a stop sign. and it started running funny no power at all with a miss at a ideal just of the ideal it runs alot better.

if you unplug the 2 middle injector there is no change in the ideal, so i switch the injectors to the outsides and there is no differance.

off a ideal at 2000 rpm you can unplug them and it does make a differance there same with the plug wires.

turbo is working ok.

if i was in my chevy i would think it jumped time on the chain.

any ideas, any help would be great.

1st I'd verify the TPS is working correctly. Next pull the injector connectors and test the voltage, one terminal in each connector should show 11-12V (ignition on), all 4 should be even, if not there is likely a fault with the injector resistor pack.

It's not impossible for it to be timing belt related, I've seen many cars where the belt was improperly tensioned after installation, or where the belt was never retentioned, both can lead to a belt loose enough to jump a tooth. I recently installed a cam in my '94 940T, @ 59k miles, and found the original factory belt shockingly loose, obviously never retentioned from the factory.

Might also be some sort of air leak in the intake system somewhere between the MAF and throttle.

I lost power on my 87 240 B230F recently... idled fine... wouldn't stall... just no power.

was the knock sensor... $73 online... not a difficult job. accompanying symptom was a cherry red hot exhaust manifold... limped into my garage, noticed funny smell.. popped hood, saw about-to-melt metal.

STUPID MECHANIC AT WORK, NONE OF THEM CHECKED THE CODES, YOU THINK THAT WOULD BE THE FIRST THING YOU DO.

CODE 231 SELF-AJUSTING OXYGEN SENSOR NOT OPERATING,

THIS SENSOR IS ONLY A MONTH OLD CAN IT BE BAD, OR A FALTY CONNECTION.

ANY IDEAS.

THANKS
