They squeek whenever i brake for the first time after it has been sitting off for a few hours that goes away after a 1 or 2 breaks. The major concern is that whenver i accelerate really fast and brake hard my front left brake seems to be rubbing up agains the pad or something. It sounds like metal on metal. Guest Guest_Pete_* Posted November 20, 2005 Report Share Posted November 20, 2005 I've got a 97 GLT too. Just did the brakes at about 55k and yes I would check the wear left on the pads. That's your first check.I ended up with Brembo rotors and Mintex pads and the combo seems to work fine. I've also heard that the Volvo pads work well with the Brembo's also. Good luck.
