whatme
ok so this is pissing me off and i havent done anything about it until now. On the top or the car there are those trim rails covered in some type of plastic or something. Well mine had cracked and are now begining to peel away. I already have some of it peeled off!!! anyone have the same problem or suggestions on how to solve it?
beachnut
Some will say they painted them, others will say they put black electrical tape over them. The third solution, and only solution to me, is to bite the bullet and get them from the dealer. However, they're not cheap ... expect to pay ~$120 each. V Tuning 850
I had that problem with mine. I chose not to do anything. You can buy replacements from the stealership for $150 a peice.1. Also you could peel it all off and paint them2. Peel it all of and polish it up nicely.3. Peel it all off and use black electrical tape. Yes some guy in Alaska did this and said it worked faily well. Yes some guy in Alaska did this and said it worked faily well. That was me in AK. The tape option actually looks good but it must be done right (ie strip ALL the old stuff off of the rail and cut the edges cleanly). Also gee the wide tape as the standard stuff isnt wide enough to cover the rail in one strip. I'd expect this to stay on for about a year and then you'll have to replace it again. I've done it three times and i still feel better about it than letting Volvo F-me outta $300.
