Guest jp
ok heres the deal, i was sailing the otherday and one of the kids on our team's boat had some shiney stuff on it... so naturaly i was interested. turns out its industrial equipement sound deadining material. it gets better, i asked him if he had ne more and if i could buy it off of him.... turns out his mom actualy puts this stuff on equipment in factorys and such and he had a lot of it just laying around the house so he gave it to me. my question is what should i use to stick it to the door panel? some heavy duty spray on adhesive? and do you have ne good ones to use?thanksjp
Bing_0
if its not:1. adhesive backed 2. flexible 3. thin, then I would not use it on cars...b
Guest jp
ok why not ?its flexible and relativly thin its just not adhesive backed. is there any reasion why i dont want to use it? cuz i got it for free and i dont care if i have to go through some extra steps to get it to work. basicly i want the great sound im capable of without having to spend extra money. do you think if i whip up some epoxy i could use that to stick it on or do you think it might be too brittle?thanksjp
Bing_0
well, the thin and flexible part is easy to figure out...the reason why I say if its not adhesive backed I wont use it is becuase i think glue will get all over the place, so things htat you dampen over wont ever come off, with the dampening i use, if I want to rip it off, i can with some work, but if you use contactg cement or something, you are gonnna forever seal the body panel they are one...just too much work to be worth it really... just my opinion, and the adhesive will probabaly smell...b

850 Stylzz
with peel n seel being so darn cheap, I think it would be well worth the small cost just to not have to lay your own adhesive, let alone all the other troubles that might come up.
