Asinine Posted December 3, 2005 Report Share Posted December 3, 2005 Well my parents are leaving for Paris in about an hour, so after work this morning i stopped by to wish them well and to tell them to bring me back nice things.While i was there we started talking about the repairs to my '94 which i hit a deer with. My dad bought the wreck off me and is trying to source some parts. He then started telling me about the repairs made to his '89 740 with 550,000kms on it. Which lead to this conversation:Me: "Why are you putting so much money into that car when you're just going to get rid of it in the next couple months?"Dad: "I need a safe car to drive Patrick, and now everything that needed to be fixed is fixed"Me: "HA! Dad, that car sucks, you have like NO compression in your cylinders i bet"Dad: <grumble>Me: "You are going to fix my old car right?"Dad: "Yes, then your mother will drive it"Me: "WHAT!"Dad: "Yeah, lead foot Marion"Me: <on the verge of tears, double over in disbelief> "You've got to be kidding me."Then i went on a rant about high octane gas which i'm quite sure my dad has only bought 5 times in his entire life, and they were all for our boat, not his corvette, or my moms camaro or his TR3 or any of the cool cars he's had.Like, i was kinda heart broken that my dad would be driving it cause it's too cool for him, but it is DEFINITLY too cool for my mom, and way too big! Not to mention i don't consider her the best driver.I hope i can land my new job ASAP so i can buy the car back and have an 854 and 855.nothing! I have been working several jobs almost 24/7 so i can pay the bills and just pay for the cars i have. My nice c320 benz sits in storage till i can pay for the rest of my bills. Cant even afford to drive it, i drive 2 other cars that i own for work "i cant afford to you use my benz for work, ie put alot of crap in the back and put dents in the side of it". I use a 97 lumina for work, it is the biggest pos ever. Only driving pleasure is the benz and that is costing me alot. Cant wait till summer when i can have my real pure fun. I love the 855 just wish it was the summer to get it to where the 854 was stylisitcally and a tune up.I just don't want to see that car 'old lady' driven, or worse, old lady wrecked!At the same time i guess it's better for the car, since i 'young guy' smoked a deer with it! Dude, it's not like he's making you drive the 740 or anything. You've gotten a new car, and you are lucky enough to see your old car restored and stay in the family. It could be a lot worse, dude.
