i personally mastered the 3x3 (generic cube) in 24 hours

not one day, like 24 full hours

it was like 3 days of 8 hours a day it was super intense

and now i can solve it in about 2:13 was my timed best

i just bought a 5x5 and its a completely different story

ill be suprised if i dont kill myself by the end of this thing

anyone here done a 5x5 and any good with it, if i so i might have to consult you as a last resort

you can search speed cubers or see em on ebaums, not quite THAT good though

I can do a rubiks cube in a couple of minutes. Here's how:

1. Start Timer

2. Smash Cube w/hammer

3. Reassemble

I must be ADD b/c I never had the patience for that puzzle.

Back when I had nothing on my mind, I was pretty good at the rubiks cube... around 4 mins. for the 3x3 but I was 12 years old lol. Now I get extremely frustrated and over-analyze the cube.

It's doesn't count when only one roll was moved and the rest of the colors are in order.

Just because my parents loved me and wanted me to gain self confidence, doesn't mean you have to criticize their parenting styles :P.

p.s. Jesse, in this country we get the ones with more than one color. :)

There is the easy way and the fast way. I do it the easy way, i used to know how to do them but can only get one color done. The easy way is do on color so you have the top 9 right then work down, top row middle row bottom row. The fast way which i've never figured out is you work from a corner back.

One of my science teachers could do the 3x3 in 47 seconds. I timed him. Now that's impressive! :P

same, my old science teacher also had it down. lol what a long time ago. I was ok at the cube, i couldnt do it fast but i could still finish it.

Back in the day the fastest I ever did it was 48 seconds for the 3x3 block kind, but now I I forget all of the moves, I can get all but the bottom layer. Sometimes I get lucky and remember the moves, most of the time I don't. Oh well. God Bless. :)

We used to also put a little petroleum jelly on insides to make it move faster. God Bless. :)

thanks guys

yeah the 3x3 is awesome but i wanted to do something not many have done

now the 5x5

im working completely on my own, except for a little guidance from the package that shows 4 steps step one: the mixed up cube step 2: one side done with adjacent angles being matched colorwise step 3: targe like designed on all sides but the solved one step 4: solved

its really not that much help but it helps me get a frame of mind, i have one side with each adjacent side making a W and the bottom side completely mixed (sorta)

i guess i gotta put more work in, its only been a day
