Edawg
I have an IPD strut tower brace and or stress bar and my strut mounts were replaced approx 80k miles ago. How long should they last because mine are destroyed and making annoying noising driving me crazy. Couldn't Volvo have designed these things to last the life of the car...Anyways I want to know if the strut brace proliferates the deterioration of the strut mounts? Does it add stress on them making them wear out faster? Yes or no? Thanks Ruftek
yangotang
What kind of noise is it making? Do you think it's possible that your noise could be from the spring seats and not from the strut mounts?
the underlørd
I'm voting no.

erikv11
check your spring seats, mine were wasted after only 30k (and I have no strut brace) and noisy as he77. Lots of squeaking and clunking.

At least, if you want your suspension to operate at a near as designed level. Basically, the way it looks to be, Volvo designed everything in the front to go at the same time. I replaced everything (a-rms all the way to the strut mounts) just a bit ago and my front end is great. Basically new car stuff.
RAzOR
You can check the seats by opening the hood and leaning on the front of the car. If the struts rise up when you push down on the bumper, the rubber spring seat is gone.

I've been doing it piecemeal and now the frontend still feels really sloppy to me, so i'm wondering what else i should replace. I've done shocks/struts, spring mounts, and heavy-duty endlinks. Would replacing the A-arms bring me back to that "new" feel? What about tie-rod ends?
