hoyt
My sister's stock CD changer took a fall and broke a few months ago. Wanted to get her a replacement for Christmas, but I'd be mailing it to her, for her to install it. So I want the most direct swap out type replacement. I read on blitzsafe's site about the Alpine converter plugs, but it sounds like that requires you to re-run the cd-changer cable from the radio to the truck (not interested in doing that). Doesn't someone make a converter for the trunk side of things so that I could toss in one of these Alpines without having to re-run any wires?Thanks!--hoyt
rp850
If you are going to use an Alpine changer, you'll probably need something called a VOLALP adapter (about $40). I have a CHM-S620 and that's what I used. The M in the model number means it uses an M-bus type cnnection. It's not too tough to wire it up but you'll need to splice in 12V power for the changer. I'd probably stick with a volvo CD changer as it will be a plug and play solution. My sister's stock CD changer took a fall and broke a few months ago.
