Passing onthe left is definately scary in this one.last yeat I went I rented a Polo as well, but then it crapped out and they replaced me a Clis (the massive, gargantuan, powerful 1.2 as well) and I could almost make it chirp/grind 3rd, but 1st and second were a definate. This Poopy Polo would even doit in 2nd...could be my ability too. To its defence, though, if you stuck t 120 (limit in Portuguese Highways) the gas lasted forever. at 1Euro 20 per litre, thats a good thing.RENTAL CARS ARE GREAT! Just to make sure there was some still in there, and it was not foamy or too burnt....and once in a while there was a funky smell through the vents.
