18s Or 19s?

I guess my opinion would be obvious too, go with the 19's. With an 05 R, you will be able to run a tire with more rubber than 215/35 or 225/35, so you should be fine in terms of rim protection and ride quality. There would be minimal difference between running an 18 vs. a 19.

by the way- I live in LA and have daily driven every freeway around LA and Orange County with my V70 on 19s. It all depends on where he lives and drives most often. None of the freeways are a worry, it's more the side streets are a worry, depending on location.

I commute between El Segundo and the South Bay area. But I travel pretty much all the freeways (it's amazing how much smoother the roads are in OC than in the westside). I hardly use side streets, or at least try to avoid them.

The tires would be 235/35/19s (I might squeeze in 245s/35/19s). I don't want the size of the wheel to overpower the look of the wagon. I have yet to see any pics of P2 Rs with 19s (those 19" Pegs are freaking sweet!). I checked out Evolve's website and they have a picture of 19" H5s on a V70R and IMO it looks funky in the pic. But the 19s look oh so nice on the S60R!

The only reason I'm even thinking about this is because the 19s would only be $40/wheel more. I need to check on load rating for the tires though as I do lug a few heavy things in the back. I have just about 4 weeks to decide so it'll give me some time.

Side note: What are your thoughts on black centers with a polished lip on a silver wagon? Like this:

I would definitely go with the 19s. You will not have any issues commuting between El Segundo and South Bay. Up until last year, I commuted from Long Beach to Torrance daily in the V70 and had no issues with 19s on the car. Even with a 245/35 you won't have an issue with the 19s overpowering the look of the car, there is enough wheel well to work with on the P2 V70.

by the way- Nice wheel choice!

Those are not the wheels I'm getting. I was just using those as an example. The ones I would be getting are similar to those and will not have the lettering on the spokes. It'll be pure black with a polished lip.

Since I have a silver wagon, my initial thought was to paint the center gunmetal but the wheel company said that it would void the warranty. Hence my two options are black with polished lip or silver all around (not sure if the lip is polished.
