Veneficus
Ok guys, last month I purchased a gauge pod for my car as its been something that I've liked / wanted for quite some time. I've heard that autometer makes some reliable and attractive gauges at decent prices but I'm not quite sure if I'm getting the full picture here. Some of the gauges that I've been throwing around getting have been things related to monitoring the temps of my audio equipment, however I have decided to end up running those in a dual gauge pod mounted under the single din HU. Also, I have decided to run a digital voltmeter to montior my batteries condition, my question to you is what other gauges could I benefit from purchasing? Keep in mind that I'm running a n/a. Thanks!

Guest Guest
Are there any other brands to consider?Stewart Warnercheck out the 42 Draft Designs website (yeah, they specialize in VW but they have some nice stuff that works with Volvos too)My gripe with Autometer is that most of their gauges are either old-school side-lit gauges or "glow" gauges (where the needle and numbers are black/shadows at night and everything else is lit. The stock Volvo gauges have a lit needle and numbers on a black background (the exact opposite). I think the Cobalt (not C2) series matches the OEM style but its color is way off stock. The Nexus gauges can match and are super-nice but way too expensive IMO.Stewart Warner gauges are well-built, have thru-dial lighting like our stock cluster, and don't cost that much more than VDO. You could get green LEDs to light them and you'd look somewhat close to stock at night (just a lot brighter).
the underlørd
Are there any other brands to consider?DEFI, but they're $$$... Very cool tho. Stewart Warner gauges aren't bad at all either. I really like the Autometer's with the LED's from here. Makes a HUGE difference.
Gregg
Defi D-Gauge series...not terribly expensive when you consider the quality, and the price of the D-Link Series or any other gauge monitoring system

Zappo
Three words: Wideband, Wideband, WidebandSad. Didn't read the post, did ya?Trans temp would be good. I have one in my car. When you start looking at gauges, you can see what is out there to get better ideas of what you want to put in. I know for Autometer, not every series they have will have the same gauges available, so you will have to look at a few of them.
Veneficus
Alright, change of plans... I need 3 gauges for the pod now... I'm going to run 3 gauges in the center din.
