Well I'm back at it.

I found a 1998 S70 T-5 with aprrox. 60k miles. The owner says he has the service records for the vehicle. Looks to have chromed :monkey: Titans or Pegs on it put on by a previous owner. Looks really clean from what I can tell from the photos. Asking price is rather high at $11k. I honestly can't see paying much more than 9500 unless the thing is an absolute gem. We shall see.

good luck, I was looking at 98 t-5 last year before I got my car and the guy wanted 12k it had 45k miles on it and got him down to 10500 but I passed it up. I bet you could get this car for $9900 if it's a good car at least make him the offer and work your way around that.

keep us updated...

a good way to tell a car has been in a collision, is looking at the gaps between the panels...fenders to doors, hood even on both sides and top is flush with the top of fenders, etc.

Electrical splicing in the headlights/foglamos, etc.

A question for the '98 S/V70 owners:

do your headlights have a liquid bubble level thing on top of the headlight housing? The first '98 S70 T-5 SE I looked at (which had been in the unreported wreck and had a rebuilt front end) had brand new Hella headlight units and they had the bubble level on on top.

However, my base '99 S70 does not have the bubble level on the headlights. The '98 S70 I just looked at today had Hella headlight units with bubble levels on top.

One other thing, this S70 was first registered in March of '97. Anyone heard of any issues with the early S70 models?

Back from hiatus -

After finally getting the S70 (the one I looked at about 2 weeks ago) into the shop this morning, they said it looked pretty good. The only thing they said it needed was an AC service (fluid replacement) and there was a leak from the oil pump seal.

My primary question is, how difficult/expensive is replacing this seal? The service tech quoted me about 5 hours labor to replace the seal.

Hopefully I can get some quick responses, as I want to try to get back to the seller by this evening.
