i have some TERRIBLE shared paint/scratches and chipped paint on the rear bumper

i am guessing that i have to get it repainted or atleast like touched up some

there is not anything on the body just on the bumper

does anyone know how much this might cost, and where if anywhere you know about (SJ) that would be good

ive seen about touchup, but this is a little more than touchup

and i wanted to fix this with some sort of bond or somethign else as opposed to buying a new one (not enough $ right now)

i hate having to fix what the previous owner did

thanks guys

I would sugest R bumper, but since you and I have the same color, (i think you're the only other one, among the regulars) thre is no prepainted R bumper in our color, so you'll have to get one, then have it stripped and repainted.

or... you can buy mine non R bumper when I get my R bumper repainted. :)

(it's in much better shape that yours)

ps - your paint code is #412 - metallic tropic green.

new problem

$

Cheaper than getting it repainted at a good body shop. I looked into having both my bumpers repainted when I was having a new door put on due to a hit and run. They quoted me 1100 If I recall Correctly. New, painted bumpers can be had for like 400 less.

If you don't plan on entering any car shows soon, I'd say the results from a rattle spray can would certainly look better than what you've got now. I'm sure there are way better bodywork people on the forum than me, but I'd start with a light sandpaper (1000 wet grit) and take the rough edges down a little. Then I'd do a primer coat, sand that, then do a color coat and then a clear coat. If you wanted to make a project out of it, perhaps you could take the bumper covers off and tape them off and paint the entire cover. It won't look professional for sure, but it's got to look better than what you have. I did this on my rear faded rear spoiler and it came out really nice.

I went to a shop in NJ, it was about a mile south of the Airport circle past the Cooper River Park. It on the Right side of the road heading south its right after the train overpass. Can remember the name, I left Jersey almost 2 years ago. He charged about $125 to paint a bumper, excellent work.
