In all honesty, even if you fixed the interior, the fire smell would never, ever go away without a complete stripping of the interior and blasting and recoating the interior metal.I would definitely be looking towards going after Volvo, if it was a recall issue and IF you were not properly notified to bring the car in for the fix.by the way- An interior fire would or should never get to the engine compartment. I know with my glt that got totaled, they let me keep the car. actually i had to ask them if they wanted the car and they replied with a no.... good news is that i parted the car out on this site a few years ago.
