prasamin
don't you need some sort of adapter to fit the t3 turbo onto the s60R manifold? with it milled flat like that, will the turbo seal to the manifold without a gasket of some sort? JHEIII874T5M
How much clearance from the cyl walls you have at 10mm lift on the exhaust valves?bump... any answer Scott?
TM850R
This is really coming along. Did you have to modify the firewall at all in order to fit that HUGE turbo in there. It looks like it may be a tight fit.

Correct. I could have used an adapter from ATP but that adds to height and depth of the turbo position. Mill the flange flat, drill and tap some 10mm studs then use the metal T3 gasket.Let me give a shout on to CJ on that drilling and tapping. It's pretty hard to get excited about drilling and tapping a manifold, but CJ is such a perfectionist on everything he does - I was totally engrossed with his work!!!How much clearance from the cyl walls you have at 10mm lift on the exhaust valves?bump... any answer Scott?Don't really know. Just kidding! It will be a tight fit... but, it will fit. Worst case I can use some Astroglide and a baseball bat.Scott C.

BlackT5
Looks great Scott! Have you made your final decision on tuning yet?...and if you just machine the lip off the manifold and don't use the adaptor, it fits. It's closer to the mount than the firewall. I have a custom made mount for the M66 because the bracket is completely different. So, it was fabbed to mount the M66 (S60R base) to the motor mount of an 850. I may run into clearance issues there but won't know until I drop it in.Scott C.

absolutrk
Wow, I just read through the whole thread, not quite sure if it would be finished by the time i got to the last page. This is by far the coolest thing I've seen in a long time. I've wanted to do this myself to an 855 for a very long time. I wish I knew this much about tuning and rebuilding cars, but *sigh* I will have to settle for living through you.Great job on this, looking forward to the final product!

ultra_runner
Ok, I'm back in town for a couple of days. I got the Spec Stage 3+ clutch kit installed and the trans bolted up along with the oil return line. I am going to try to get the engine into the car tonight (beer pending) or tomorrow.Stay tuned.Scott C.
