doesn't work anymore, they changed the law, so that now it just goes in as a donation.

nope it doesnt work anymore. my wedding day was april 12th 2002, and i got a ticket that day. i mailed it in for 10 over, and never cashed the check. that time it worked, ive changed insurance since then and had a friend of mine who owns a inusrance agency check it and its not on file. i got one ayear ago and did the same, and it didnt work. they just kept the money and reported it. i KNOW its on there!

Another VS member (haha guess who) and I were prob doing bout double the speed limit going up to a ski area, both of us received the same amount. Don't remember how much tho (i think the ticket says $196) ...but thought this pic was pretty funny. Considering a third volvo wagon (745) pulled over when the 2 of us got pulled over, but he wasn't really speeding. So a second police car was radioed in to give them a ticket as well...

I must just be one lucky SOB. I can't remember the last time I saw a cop coming to and from work. I guess the time of the night helps. I've never been pulled over for speeding, but I have been pulled over twice. Once for a burnt out license plate light  (stupid, yeah I know) and the other time b/c the officer said I looked suspicious. I think one thing that helps at night is the HID's because the modded car scene is not big here and the only cars w/ HID's are ones that came that way from the factory. Standard rule of thumb is that the cops are like flies on dogcrap if there is some mid-80's cutlass w/ a half peeled paint job driving around in the late hours of the night. They don't bother grocery getters with HID's unless of course it's clear as day (no pun intended) that they're doing something wrong.

During my 'career' as a cabdriver i've had many speedingfines, but with my own car(s) i've had only one ticket so far. 80 kmph on 50 kmph.

Highest speeding (without getting a fine) was 210 kmph on a 80kmph road. That was in the Honda. Don't think my Volvo will go that fast.

Once i was on a highway, driving just over 200 (where 120 is allowed) with my stereo on max, and when i looked in my mirrors i saw a policecar a few meters behind me with all his lights flashing and his sirene on.

I thought i was really monkeyed now and pulled over, but the policecar just raced on. Guess they had an urgent emergency. I was darn lucky that day.

In the Netherlands you loose your driverslicence when you're speeding more than 50 kmph.

It's crazy in Ontario.

Get pulled over for doing 120 in a 100 (118 is the max) you get a $100 ticket.

130 in a 100, something like $240 ticket

140 in a 100, something like $395 ticket. For going only 40km/h over, thats like doing 85 in a 60.

I'm not sure about the speed, but if it is over a certian amount, they arrest you on the spot and impound your car.... Talk about strict. There was this story posted a while ago, of some kid here in Ottawa who got pulled over going just under 200. He claimed he had drank too much of this protene shake thingy and had the runs bad. They didn't arrest him. Lucky guy :P

edit: 150kph in a 100, you loose your licence for 30 days.

I lost my license for 3 months for accuring too many points in a 2 year period..... ;) Slow down people, it's not worth the headache, TRUST ME. If you haven't been pulled yet, give it time, YOU WILL BE.

They escort you off the motorway to a cashpoint machine......

i hear the french police have to flag you down... so just floor it and see if they don't get you... then take off on the next exit and park behind a hardware store, go inside and get a screw driver to take off your plates :P

I heard in California that robots from the future run the government, rain is a natural disaster, and carpenters build 400hp Volvos.
