Mike H.
Got my car dynoed today. It was cool. There were 3 other cars there (1 B6 A4 1.8T and 2 B5 S4s). One S4 was pushing 454HP. Anyways here are some pics and the results of the 3 runs. One thing with my car is that the torque cuts out (limiter?) and you can see that in the graphs. One the 3rd run, the guy tried to "cheat" by flooring it after the lag area. Overall, I'm a little disappointed that I didn't get more HP (I'm giving this to crappy 91 CA gas) but the torque IMO was right on. If I could only figure how to eliminate that dip (probably by ECU upgrade), I'm stoked!http://img70.photobucket.com/albums/v213/m...9644bbcdd794067password is mike_c70
Guest DougK
what the metric? What the hell is that in HP?
Guest Guest
About 260HP and 250ftlbs torque. The torque is on target, just wished the HP was a little higher.

NaturalMystic79
Looks like alot of drivetrain loss. Sorry to hear man.
J0E
wait is that 263 to the wheels....?Nope...163 to the wheels. No further comment than that mere correction.

Dane O'Shea
Ouch...those numbers are scary low. 160 whp is about what a WRX puts out and they are only rated to have 225 crank hp.
volflo
friend of mine of does lots of test driving and ecu related tuning (BSR PPC) told me that it was impossible to get an v70R MANUAL (!!!!!) from 0 to 100k in under 7 secs. not even with 4500rpm and letting the clutch go "bang".... volvo claims like 5.9 or so. the car is simply underpowered. it simply doesn have 300hp stock.......i guess u already checked johanns website for this topic?www.swededemon.com

I think it is possible to get 300HP from the car but no in real world conditions and definitely not using crappy 91 octane.Althought the numbers are low, it's still a nice car. With an ECU I'm happy. Now just need to find a shop to rework the tranny.
matt1122
Is that the automatic or the manual. Johanns stock dyno runs were a f*load better after it was broken in, weren't they?I thought he had about 210-220 whp on his good runs? Seems like that only happens in nice, cold weather. Is there a standard for dyno testing vehicles by car manufacturers? Like, always do it at 60* with x amount of humidity? Or is it possible that because the R concept was done during the winter it simply got the best possible power results on their tests?

His dyno numbers were all almost identical.
Mike H.
The dyno charts Johann posted were better because all of them were manuals. Mine's a GT so I have less torque. Their HP is a little higher as well (I remember 280HP or so) but I chalk that up to better gas. Like I said, CA gas is crap. WHP is low IMO but it sure doesn't feel like it when I floor it. Ultimately, I want to get rid of that hickup in the charts and go from there.
Boosted2003
what it only pushed 160 whp? what. Underpowered totally. Made 260bhp?Thats around 40 percent drive train lost. Some thing is fishy.
Noahkk19
Somethings deffinitely not right...It was interesting to read that talk on Johann's website about how nobody can get their R cars to get the performance numbers claimed by Volvo, and how power seems to be pretty down on A LOT of S60/V70R's.
