Gentlemen, these are the facts and the facts only.

Rant on

I absolutely cannot question the accuracy of your results Johann, as you've likely done more research into it than Volvo has.

Though I am still convinced that my car is performing up to Volvo's specs.

I'm going to make an effort to drive to the strip tomorrow and make a couple of passes before I trade in the car on Saturday. I'm guessing she'll run a 14.3@101 for the best run. That's what I've observed chiped S4s run trap speed wise in 80 degree heat. Though they can hit mid-high 13s with a decent launch. Though they are forecasting afternoon Thunderstorms, so we'll see.

Was the S4 stock?

Most of the high-horsepower Supras in this country pull 800+ RWHP on C16 while they can only muster just around 500 on premium pump.

No Stage 3 setup with other stuff (forget). It was 454HP the last time I saw it run.

Hey gang +- 5% is normal variance. Weather, altitude, fuel, tires on car, temps, many things will cause variations. This thread is sounding like the 911 commission.

These variances are why you sometimes win when you shouldn't.

Guest DougK

I saw 13.82@101 at dragstrip once.

That sounds about right for 300hp.

Its hard to say. Dynoing turbo cars is admittly a PITA, but you shouldn't be seeing only a 160 hp on a 300hp car. The lowest acceptable WHP imo is 260.

remeber, I only made a 140whp the first time I hit the dyno (come a long ways since then)

Just what I thought. :)

For Audis, most good aftermarket ECUs out there "learn" the octane and compensate for boost/timing accordingly. I know in my good friend's S4 w/ ABT chip plus basically all other mainstream modifications possible on stock turbos, he can fill up 100+ octane and feel a tremendous difference after just a few miles. But on a factory car, this is not quite the case.

Johann - I know this sounds silly and its a HUGE big stab in the dark not knowing much about the S60R, but does the MAHA take into account all the power that may be drawn by systems like the semi active chassis? Is it possible that some of the power is being drained there?

I'm asking more because I'm just curious (1) how much that system draws and (2) whether or not the dyno is that advanced and if it could possibly affect the outcome if it does draw a significant amount, not so much trying to come up with the solution. :P
