Copper/brass Elbow Under Throttle With Hose

Okay, I posted this on someone's "airbox" thread, but I don't know if that's where this hose goes. To cut to the chase, the hose going from the copper/brass elbow which is under the throttle/vacuum tree with green clamp on it is dry rotting and needs to be replaced soon. I know it disappears immediately (out of sight of the picture) and snakes under the IAC piping and towards the airbox, appearing again, next to the battery, but without taking all of this stuff loose, I won't be able to find it. I've thought maybe it is cruise control related, airbox related or secondary air pump related. Can anyone tell me. I would sure appreciate it. The picture below is the best I can do with a camera at the angle it's in. Thanks in advance.

I should add that this is for a '98 S70 T5

Hi

I think if you follow the hose round it should connect with the brake servo.

Matt

Thanks....do you know anything about this hose...what size and legth it is....need to replace it...might as well go with a silicone hose unless it's a Volvo specific hose.

That hose does go to the brake booster as Matt said. There are two pieces with a plastic coupler located just behind the battery tray. It is a reinforced 3/8" hose, so I'm thinking a silicone hose wouldn't be the best choice there. I would get some fuel safe hose, which you can get in other colors besides black if you wanted. Looks like you will need somewhere between 2.5' to 3' of it. Taking the airbox out will help you to get the best access.

Cool Scot, thanks! Now, the big question...where to get the 3/8 inch fuel safe hose?? I want to go ahead and get this done before I go back to work in a week. by the way, Happy New Year to you and all who read this post!
