B5234t Donor Engine

I am putting this out as a feeler. You may have seen my project thread but I have my engine torn down right now. If I can put me hands on a semi-running 5234 I could use that to proceed on the M66 portion of this project and reduce downtime. I'll either buy it from you or pay to use it for a couple months or whatever. Open for suggestions. Anything within a 500 mile radius of SF Bay area.

Thanks.

crap man, you still have that thing :P

how much are you asking for the motor?

I'm almost ready to give it away! B) yeah right. I'd take 1,000 for the complete engine. That seems fair right? Reason i still have it is cause i'm not really putting in the effort. Lots of people asking but no one ever comes through. Most people want to rebuild one which isn't worth buying a good motor.

HHmmm.... as long as it would start and run with my ECU. You serious about that $1K price tag though? What's the "good motor" elude to?

Thanks.

Scott C.

I was just saying that most people interested in buying a Volvo motor usually want to rebuild it with aftermarket parts so buying my "good motor" ie. no problems, only 113k on it, is not worth buying just to tear apart & replace parts. They are usually looking for something that is blown or with high mileage so that they can pick it up really cheap. The $1,000 is complete, Engine, all acc, ie starter, alt, etc, engine ECU, MAF sensor & intake tubing, wiring, etc. Just no intercooler or tranny. Tranny(Auto) is extra. What do you think a fair price would be? Last time i checked they were around $1500 @ the scrap yards. No history on it , nothing. I think that was bare too. It's been awhile though.

I get your point now and you're right. I was more interested in something "barely" running so that I could worth the trans portion of the project. I wouldn't be really driving anywhere. Then the premise would be - after the project, rebuild THAT engine using aftermarket parts and offer up for sale to the VS crew (or a noob).

Is there anything we could barter or work out maybe? PM me if you have any ideas.
