mikie
As I was disconnecting the connector for the airbag the one located under the airbag, I accidently broke the plastic the holds the other conector on the side of the airbag. I could still get everything connected but that clip might fall out, this won't cause the air bag to deploy will it? Hopfully I can buy this clip from the dealer, and not have to replace the airbag itself right? Thanks,Mikie
the underlørd
that's the steering wheel right?
BtownVolvo
It looks like the connector for the passenger...although I haven't even seen the drivers...
the underlørd
It looks like the connector for the passenger...although I haven't even seen the drivers... the one on my passenger side is RED/WHITE.. so i guessed steering wheel. I would guess if you hooked it all up, and you didn't get a SRS code.. that you would be ok.
Socal
It looks like the connector for the passenger...although I haven't even seen the drivers...Looks like my passenger side clip. not sure what you can do about it. You might try removing the broken section thats stuck in the the airbag and try very carefully epoxying it back together. As to getting a replacement part, from what I remember it looks like you might be able to just replace the section with the clip.Edit: I have a '99 S70 as well
mikie
Alright thanks guys, I just didn't want the airbag to go off or something when I connect the battery back. And yes that is the passenger side airbag, sorry should have mentioned that. I'm gonna go turn the car on to see.
MrWinkey
The bag won't deploy but if it's unplugged it will turn on your SRS light and no one but the dealer or an indy can reset the light without the proper scanner ;)
BillAileo
Mr. Winkey,Do you know if the ignition switch has never been turned on while the unit is unplugged and plugged back in, will it still set the SRS light? Thanks,Bill
MrWinkey
Bill, First of all it shouldn't matter where the ignition switch is positioned because you should "ALWAYS" disconnect the battery when servicing the SRS system. ;)

I guess i will get the clip so I wont have to go through the trouble of getting the light reset. Thanks
