whatme
This is lookin pretty sweet. Im going to get around to buying it today and probably will have it installed by next weekend.Last thing to decide; Should i bet my dad that it will make a difference on the dyno? Actualy I think ive finaly found the source for that rica chip i wanted. He said he would pay for it if it did make a difference.... but my side of the deal is if it doesnt.... then no more mods .... ever. Im def going to do it though because if any exhaust sytem does something for this car then this well.
USMC850T
For the best performance wouldn't you want the cut out immediately at the end of the turbo downpipe?

There's one out there now (can't remember the name) that gives you visual (through a light) indication of "open" or "closed." My biggest gripe with the QTEC is that the switch is not like a light switch where it's on or off... you hold the switch one way and the motor opens, and you hold it the other way, and it closes. You let go, and it stops. Supposedly this is a good thing because "you can run it halfway open if you want" but who would do that? Not me. All or nothing. It's a pain in the butt to get the thing to close correctly because if you hold it until it closes all the way then let go of the switch, the motor backs off a bit and the valve unseals. Anyways, look around for other brands. There's at least two others, one of which has a faster motor, and the other one of which has the visual indications. PM thedonald86 about it, he was looking at my setup and is going to go with something similar, but he knows more about the other valves.-Jon
whatme
one last question. Any problems with getting a 3 in and yet putting it on the stock exhaust? This is just incase i happen to get enough money to buy a downpipe after i get everything else done as it is not nearly close to the top of my list (and yes i know it should come before i put on the valve and all that but i like things NOW. ). Any exhaust shop could deal with the size difference couldnt they?
Chris_R
There is also one out there that opens/closes based on boost/vaccum. I think you are able to turn it off and on at will too.
