USMC850T
I'm running a total of 2 degrees timing advance on my I & E camshafts, and here are my results. These were all obtained using a nice performance G-timer, which is quite accurate. It belongs to my friend, he has used it at the track with his S4 and found accuracy to about +-3 one hundreths on 1/4 mile runs. Anywho here it is.I did a whole bunch of 0-60 runs, and one uphill quarter mile. My best 60 run was 6.72 with a 2.35 60 foot time . I do have stuff all season continentals though. Incidentally, i had the most wheelspin on my best run. These are .2 sec better than my previous best of 6.93.In my graph I constructed a regression model to predict my speed after any given elasped time. It's dead on inside the data plots (R^2 = .99!), but gets a little fishy once you get around 10 seconds. I'm hoping to go out tomorrow and do some more 1/4 mile runs so that I have more data to fill in the graph with. How many others have experienced luck with the QBM tool. Gioseppe
try different settings dude, and compare The results.do you have a boost/vac gauge hooked up? make note of vaccum readings at idle too.

I don't have a boost gauge though, what would I be recording idle vacumn for (sorry relative n00b).
Mogatu'r
How much stronger / faster, you felt your car after the Cam adjustment? err!

USMC850T
My idle is right around 900 indicated on the tach. Once the cars been on for a few I can punch it to the floor and it will rev wihtout hesitation. As for how it feels, it feels faster because I shifted a little power into the midrange, so it comes on earlier. So far on paper it's .2 seconds faster.
Nebor
Stock boost, etc?
Guest Guest
Completely stock with exception to a cone filter coupled directly after the MAF and QBM cam adjustment. I used engine restore the first oil change after I bought the car and have been using mobil1.

I've got a downpipe, exhaust, and an mbc set at 12psi and I can only manage a 5.7s 0-60.If you threw on an alternate means of boost control, or a chip, so you could unleash first gear powah, then you could probably run a pretty hot 0-60. USMC850T
I'm debating whether to go with a speedtuning chip, or spend more on an engine management system where I can have an economy map, and a balls to the wall power map. As for exhaust I'm gonna do a cutout. If I do the weight reduction I think I'd have no problem getting under 5.5 (with good rubber of course). Nice job recording the data man.

Nice job recording the data man. What do you think is the best 0-60 time that is possible with out MAJOR upgrades and street tires? I'm thinking like a low 5 second figure is possible. JHEIII874T5M
You'd have to classify major upgrades and street tires.
BlackT5
What did you find your cams were set to before you made the adjustments?
piran21
You'd have to classify major upgrades and street tires. I mean internal motor work. Stock turbo, stock tranny with bolt ons. No street drag radials. Summer tires at best. OK, play ball!
