Picked Up Wrong Oil

I'm scheduled for an oil change tomorow, so I went out to buy some oil...Oooppss I got 5W20 instead of 5W30. However I got enough of 10W40 from the summer time, should I mix them? I'm figuring I should just return it and get a 30 rating????

I'd just return the wrong oil in exchange for the stuff you normally use. Mixing probably won't hurt the car if they are close in grade. Now if you had lets say some 5w-30 and 20w-50...yeah..probably not a good idea to mix those. I'd say if you don't need to mix oil, don't do it. :D

Hi,

to mix a 5-20 with a 5-30W wud be harmless. U ll probly will get a 5-25W :)

Avoid if possible to mix with a 10-40 as those stuff seems to me not 100pct synthetic

regards
