tp_taylor
I know it has to have been discussed in the past. Has anyone been able to aptly integrate an aftermarket HU to the stock amp behind the radio and then into aftermarket components? There has to be a way, right? It maybe something along the lines of reading the diagram and testing which could take a few hours and possible damage to amp/HU. But if there is previous success, I would like to cut out the R & D and read someone's writeup. Thanks
Bing_0
member slater makes adapters for hte stock amp that works great.as for connecting the stock amp to aftermarket components, you can do it, cant say how good its gonna sound though.if you are going with new components, i would suggest bypassing the factory amp completely and getting an aftermarket amp b
tp_taylor
If I recall Correctly the stock unit was made by Alpine. I have an after market unit in and IMO the stock sounded much more rich/clean/powerful. I figured to give it a try seeing how it is free to me and I do not mind butchering up the harness in an effort to tap free sound quality. Plus I have that elusive engine hum, but I think I know what that is. Thanks for the info...
Bing_0
if you are comparing an aftermarket headunit's internal power to the stock amp's power, yes, no aftermarket headunit is going to match or come close to the stock amp.but a stock amp compared to an aftermarket headunit, aftermarket amp and speakers is a whole nother ball park b
