trance42 Posted January 14, 2006 Report Share Posted January 14, 2006 This 06 sti was driving all slow and i drove past and let off. i threw it in second and we drove about 1/4 mile. i guess he didnt want to race a volvo thinking its a waste of time. finally he droped down and he got a nose legnth before my turbo spooled. i was a whole car legnth buy 6500 rpm. i shifted in to 3rd and walked away i. when i shifted he was just behind the rear door and i pulled away a car legnth. he pulled up to me at the next light and we talked. he had a turbo back exhaust. he was like your car is pretty quick! I would like to call vms in the morning and order there rrfpr. will the car be able to make it back to va beach with out proper tune and without damageing my new engine.If that's your current setup... trance42 Posted January 14, 2006 Author Report Share Posted January 14, 2006 well honestly i can say its not smart for me to race yet because its not tuned but it doesnt back fire unless i am running really slow and then its verry slight and it only happened a couple of times. its definatly not going lean. the exhaust smells rich but really not all that bad. i had read somewhere on the board where someone who was doing an engine build thought that an 850 would keep the a/f where its suposed to be. i have pushed it up to 15 psi. there is a rich smell but its not strong. the bsr ecu is set for stock injectors/turbo at 18 psi. what do you guys think about how The ecu regulates the a/f Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
trance42 Posted January 14, 2006 Author Report Share Posted January 14, 2006 i have the columba wheels with toyo proxy 4 tired that are bald lol. its a 30/35r double ball bearing. 63 on the compressor and i think 50 on the turbine. not really sure.. i know its spool is pretty instant! Zulu Id like to see some pics under the hood of how you ran you intercooler pipe. do yu have any. where did you get your intercooler from. do you get enough airflow over the intercooler through the front bumper?
