Loss In Power Around 2000-2300 Rpm. 2002 V70 Cx

Hey all,

A friend of mine has been having this issue for the last few weeks and can't work out what's going on.

He has brought it to two mechanics one of whom knows Volvo's pretty well and they can't work it out.

The ecu threw a code that said it had something to do with a vacuum leak.

But, so far everything seems to be in order, He did a tune up, new plug's etc for piece of mind yet it's still doing it. It idles fine and has power everywhere else through the rpm.

He did mention that the diagnostic computer read out on the dash said: emission service required.

Any ideas?

Could be the ETM. Check the "sticky" threads at the top of this forum.

From your intial post it sounds like an ETM issue .....however you stated the guys wrenching on it know Volvos? So my guess is they would pick up on that ....the vacuum leak code is probably the cause however I cannot tell you without a code # ..can you get a P code # and post back and perhaps I can assist more? ;)

Thanks man. I will find out why they weren't able to tell more from the code and find out what it was. This guy apparently works on Volvos a lot, but it goes to show that it doesn't mean there're experts
