don kalmar union
depending on what car i drive, for my domestics its 87, for european cars is 91 and then turbos its 94 edited part: opps, wasnt paying attention to my numbers.I have noticed a number of contributions on this thread and another on a related subject from satisfied IPD/MTE customers in North America and from those concerned with the prices of these products.Marco Alsterfalk from MTE makes several visits to IPD every year and in particular works there on specific software matched to the particular fuels generally available locally. He also has worked with IPD on projects for Volvo of North America and on projects for Volvo in Gothenburg.Prospective buyers of rewritten software really should check with suppliers as to exactly what knowledge and information they or their principal may have of Volvo's own software and their ability to make more than the most rudimentary changes. In the UK we are hearing regularly of damage to vehicles that have rewritten software with and without other hardware changes. It is of course not unlikely that damage can and will be caused by owners making later additional adjustments that software of any provenance cannot overcome. The issue has also been raised of the ability of a supplier to make later software changes. Unless the originator has established library upgrades available, it is only possible to make these changes on the actual vehicle. Just sending the ECU away will not produce the very exacting callibrations that are required.Regards, Don.Norchi.www.kalmar-union.com

SkyWriter
i run IPD chip on 93 octane; it's great! change your oil every 3K and use quality stuff; your motor will be fine.
matt1122
A chip really shouldn't affect your cars reliability at all in any way that you could possible measure.

RAzOR
17 psi chip for about three years. Bought the car with 133K and have about 230K now. No problems other than blown hoses. Occassionally, like right now, when I feel carnal, I throw on the manual boost controller and twist the hell out of the stock boost gauge. Surges up to 20 psi! D4mn that's good!
