Yesterday I took my Volvo to the racetrack. It's ~800' above sea level, the temperature was in the mid 50s.

The car is a 1997 850 GLT with 157,400 miles. I replaced the 13G with a 15G that I ported and polished. I've got the generic tune by Upsolute, and a MBC set at 12.5 lbs. Both the air intake and the exhaust are stock.

There was an accident in the left lane before I got there effectively closing it for the rest of the day. Because of this I only had time for 3 runs.

14.5 @ 96 mph

14.4 @ 96 mph

14.5 @ 95 mph

My 60' was between 2.1 and 2.3. I've got timeslips and video of the 14.4 from inside the car. A friend of mine has video of the 14.4 run from outside the car.

No weight reduction was done. I didn't even remove the baby seat.

Wow; those 60's are not too bad. I wish I could run a 2.1 60'. What were your 1/8th mile numbers?

Baby seat adds street credit and 7.7 hp to the wheels ;) .

Well done. My LPT with the turbo swap ran 14.7 @ 93 in 90 degree Alabama heat and humidity this summer. I was running around 10.5 lbs and my AFRs were way rich. It dynoed 202 fwhp on a dynojet the next day. I figure I'll start messing with an mbc later this year.

Sweeet!! :( Lucky bastard, best I've gotten with the S70 is a 14.78 @ 99.8

Traction's not the car's forte.

What tires do you have?

I wish I could emphasize more how soft you have to be on the throttle and clutch and shifter early on...

Remember the factory's solution for poor traction was baby boost in all of first gear ;)

When I tried to actually launch the car, I got a 2.32. :) But one wheel peel is so much more fun. I'm hoping to go to the track when I'm up in Gainesville this weekend with the new 225/45/17 tires, should be much better as the other ones were bald ;)
