I remember someone here on VS has this...who? how? where? is it custom? As of right now all I could think of was taking an Evo 8 and shaving it to fit.

I found the pod pictured below. I think it will work. But don't qoute me on that. It is for an STI and is made by Perrin. It will also fit both 52mm and 60mm gauges. Currently I have 1 gauge cup on my steering column and was able to place it and block only the speedo from 0-30mph.

I have the 3 pod on the pillar and the single mounting cup on my steering column.

Jesus that Perrin piece of $130 O.O

guess I'll just rig something unless someone with what I'm talking about chimes in. ^_^

It is expensive, but I don't think it is too overpriced. I mean it is a machined piece of billet aluminum. It can also accomodate 52mm and 60 mm gauges. I think it is fair. What do I know though, I paid $600 for a set of mountain bike brakes 5 years ago.

HOW MANY GUAGUES DO YOU NEED!! No really though, how many... that will make 5 right? What are they all for?

To be honest with you guys lots of gauges look neat and everything but think of it as "how much info do I need and what important".

in my humble opinion 3 is about the max you need for a streetcar. Water temp, oil pressure and in a turbo car, boost.

Anything more than that is overkill. And if youre watching gauges your not watching the road. Warning lights are good (oil pressure) to have with the guage that way you use the gauge to sparatically monitor pressure and if anything goes catastrophic the big red light tells you to kill the motor.

Unless your racing a trans temp does you no good. For the same amount of money as a good gauge you can put a cooler on it and never have to worry about it.

Fuel pressure is an "iffy" one to me. Unless your running nitrous or BIG boost, I dont see it as a neccesity.

Here is the cockpit of my race car.

Lots of gauges in there. Abd that shot doesnt show the GPS. The only one I pay attention to is the tach. All the rest are for the navigator to monitor over the course of the race. I still have 2 more to put in to. I have about every critical fluid monitored for temp or pressure and in 2 cases, both. But in reallity its WAAAAAAY to much information for me to handle while trying to drive the car at the same time. So the navigator does that for me. May look like an airplane in there but knowing where all of your temps and pressures are is mission critical. If a temp starts to climb out of nowhere it usually means you are loosing fluid and at 180+mph, thats not good.

On a streetcar, the more gauges you cram in it the more it becomes a "ricer". So unless you can back the need up for all that information, I would just stick with the basics.
