Asinine
For those who have done some researach / have an opinion. What would you say is the best and or cheapest online brokerage for managing your own 401(k)?Thanks in advance!
benson304
I use Fidelity, I think it is a nice simple site to use and manage your funds. I have a Roth IRA and a UTMA account with them, so it might be a little different experience, but I like them a lot. My Dad has been using them for a looooong time and has had no issues with them. Asinine
IRAs and UTMAs are different than 401(k) right?I'm just wondering because in the face of IBM, Alcoa, and more to come i'm sure moving from defined pensions to encouraging self-driected 401(k) plans whatever brokerage can grab those accounts is going to win big!who's the best!? Anyone know if IBM or Alco have employee discount plans with Ameritrade or someone!?!!
benson304
Yeah they are different. IRAs are retirement funds, but they are a different type, and UTMA is an education fund. I don't know that much about this stuff, I just started getting into it when I turned 18 and my Dad said alright here's the money I've been managing for you, now it's up to you. So I've only been in the game around a year and a half.
Fake Name
Ha- funny, I just got offline moments ago starting a IRA with Fidelity. I have other accounts with them too. Pretty solid, nothing fancy- it's just a 401k.
